Last night at the New Jersey Spring Fever Tour date, All Time Low stopped their set because Alex saw someone who was hurt and in danger in the pit. He made everyone be quiet, make room for the person, and got the security guards/paramedics to help them immediately. All Time Low left the stage and Matt Flyzik went to the edge of it to check on the person and see what was going on. Alex occasionally came out by Flyzik to check if they were ok. Jeff Maker even switched the lights to get a spotlight on the person so the guards could see. This lasted for about fifteen minutes and the entire crowd was talking but quietly, some people even sat down, no one was being an asshole. When the guards finally got the person on a stretcher and people saw they weren’t too hurt and ok, everyone started cheering. All Time Low came back on stage and Alex thanked everyone for being so respectful and said “I know these things are scary and it puts a damper on a show, but let’s hope they’re okay and have a great time tonight.” This is why I love this band. They care so fucking much about their fans and the fanbase cares about each other. I have so much respect for everyone last night, it was just really incredible to see people helping each other.
Being that I’m a stubborn handicapped person who refuses to stand in the back like I probably should, and instead braves the barrier, there aren’t words for how much comfort stories like this bring me. All Time Low shows are some of few where I really feel 100% safe in the crowd.
